End of the turtle

Turtles are a symbol of the earth, connection with the centre, navigation skills, patience, self-boundaries, associated with the feminine, power to heal female diseases, respecting the boundaries of others, developing new ideas, self-reliance, tenacity, non-violent defence, motherhood, linking heaven to earth, awakening to opportunities, creative source, informed decisions, planning, adaptability, slow progress, retreat, grounding, chastity, conservation, Mother Earth, longevity. Some Native Americans called their land “Turtle Island” as they believed that their land was set upon the back of a turtle. In Hindu and Chinese culture the turtle is a symbol of Mother Earth and holds the world in balance. The turtle teaches us to have an affinity with the land. How to channel the energies of land, plants, people and animals, to carry them on our back, so to speak. They also teach us about determination and overcoming obstacle.
